Heat pumps for commercial and industrial applications

AHI Carrier Vitocal heat pumps for commercial and industrial applications make use of free energy from the environment. For commercial and industrial applications, AHI Carrier offers brine/water heat pumps, air-source heat pumps, and large heat pumps . Ice energy storage systems are also available. Brine/water heat pumps use the ground as an energy source through geothermal collectors or probes, while air-source heat pumps use solar-heated outdoor air or waste heat as their primary energy source. Ice energy storage systems combine ambient air, solar radiation, and the ground as heat sources.

In addition to heat generation, high-performance products in the series also offer impressive cooling capabilities—for example, for cooling food storage areas and air conditioning industrial facilities. Heat pumps with capacities up to 600 kilowatts are also suitable for installation in awkward locations and can be configured as dual-mode systems. Gas and oil condensing boilers cover peak loads.

Solar thermal systems

AHI Carrier solar thermal systems are the ideal complement for hot water heating and backup heat generation. With a wide range of collectors, AHI Carrier offers flexible and customized solutions for any application. Our Vitosol flat-plate and tubular collectors allow you to harness free solar energy. Their use not only reduces the environmental impact but also reduces fuel purchase and storage costs. Therefore, investing in solar thermal systems is environmentally friendly, economical, and future-proof. These collectors are ideal for use where low temperatures are required for heat production.

Flat-plate collectors are suitable for above-roof installation, roof integration, and mounting on collector supports. AHI Carrier's patented switchable absorber layer protects the high-efficiency flat-plate collectors from overheating and stagnation. The absorbers in our evacuated tube collectors impress with their ability to capture particularly large amounts of solar energy, thereby ensuring high efficiency. The vacuum provides particularly effective thermal insulation. These tube collectors are capable of converting even low levels of solar radiation into useful heat.

Solid fuel boilers

AHI Carrier's solid fuel boiler product range includes pellet boilers , log boilers ,and wood chip boilers . Wood chips are small pieces of natural wood, with or without bark. Pellets, on the other hand, are a compressed form of biomass with a high calorific value. They are produced in large quantities as a waste product from the wood processing industry.

Wood biomass is a virtually carbon-neutral energy source, as its production only emits the amount of CO2 consumed by the tree during its growth. Furthermore, wood is inexpensive as a household fuel, especially if it can be sourced locally, and is not subject to significant price fluctuations. Our biomass boilers are characterized by high operational reliability and efficiency. They achieve efficiencies of over 90 percent and are economical to consume, which in turn ensures low heating costs.

AHI Carrier oil condensing boilers and low-temperature oil boilers are based on reliable technology proven over many years. Operating efficiency is also guaranteed. The product range offers a wide range of outputs. For example, AHI Carrier oil condensing boilers are available with rated outputs of up to 545 kilowatts, and low-temperature oil boilers with outputs of up to 2,000 kilowatts. Oil condensing boilers operate particularly efficiently by harnessing the energy stored in hot gases that would otherwise escape up the chimney. Recovering this additional heat over the long term benefits the environment and reduces operating costs by using less fossil fuel. Low-temperature oil boilers are particularly reliable in applications with high heat demand. Their sectional design also allows for use in confined spaces and generally facilitates maneuverability.
