Viessmann’s compact hybrid appliances combine two energy sources in a single unit: a highly efficient, modern condensing boiler for gas or oil and a heat pump for renewable energy using free environmental energy. The intelligent Hybrid Pro Control energy manager automatically selects the most favorable and efficient operating mode.

The hybrid system provides maximum flexibility

When it comes to energy and heating, there are many options. Deciding on a heating system is not easy. One thing is certain: fossil fuel and electricity prices fluctuate wildly over the long term. Therefore, it’s all the better if you don’t have to rely on a single energy source for heating and can instead invest in a future-proof hybrid system.

Hybrid units combine two independent heat generators into a single unit: a gas or oil condensing boiler is paired with an electric heat pump that derives most of its energy from air or water. This energy combination combines “renewable” and “high-efficiency” energy, providing maximum flexibility in using the energy source that is most readily available at any given time. The control unit’s settings can be adjusted to any energy market situation, so even when energy prices fluctuate, the most affordable and efficient operating mode is always selected.

Both highly efficient and renewable

Viessmann heat pumps boast high efficiency, which is beneficial not only in terms of savings. Using renewable energy sources from the environment also conserves valuable resources and reduces CO₂ emissions. With high-efficiency Viessmann condensing boilers, you can always count on economical operation and lower energy consumption.

This ensures an optimal combination of renewable and conventional energy is always achieved during operation. The intelligent Hybrid Pro Control system can be individually configured to select the most efficient, and therefore most affordable, heat generator at any given time. Constantly fluctuating energy prices will no longer be a problem.

Hybrid Pro Control – intelligent energy manager

Heating systems are typically controlled based on room or outside temperature. The Hybrid Pro Control intelligent energy manager anticipates this and adjusts the system using variable settings. You can customize these settings and change them at any time:

  • Electricity prices
  • CO₂ emissions
  • Self-consumption
  • Energy efficiency
  • Need for warmth

The right combination of energy for efficient work

With the Hybrid Pro Control system , the control unit recognizes, for example, how long the heat pump can independently cover all heating needs. If this time is exceeded, it calls the condensing module for backup. Hybrid Pro Control automatically determines this time and reacts accordingly: it uses current prices for electricity and gas or oil to calculate which fuel can be used most efficiently at any given time. However, Hybrid Pro Control never loses sight of the efficiency of the system as a whole. If one heat generator is less efficient than the other, according to the selected control value, it is switched off.

Efficiency or environmental responsibility? Convenience, no matter what.

The choice is yours. A hybrid system can be designed for either environmental responsibility or cost efficiency. Simply configure it: Hybrid Pro Control will do the rest.

  1. Economy mode
Economy mode: Depending on energy prices and system version, economy mode can save up to 40 percent on heating costs.
  2. Eco Mode
: An added bonus for the environment: this setting ensures the system operates with minimal CO₂ emissions per kWh of heating energy. Regardless of whether Economy or Eco mode is selected, the Comfort mode function will always prioritize DHW heating.
