The office and retail building in Shanghai is an impressive, well-thought-out concept that pays equal attention to both the building envelope and the engineering equipment. Six Vitomax 200-HWs supply Sky Soho with hot water.

Dynamic, futuristic architecture with cutting-edge technology

Sky Soho is one of Shanghai's latest attractions. With its impressive size and curved structures that resemble a canyon at a certain angle, the modern building is an exciting combination of dynamic, futuristic architecture and forward-looking technologies.

Designed by British architect Zaha Hadid, the complex covers an area of almost 350,000 square meters and is located in close proximity to Hongqiao Airport and downtown Shanghai. It serves as an office and commercial building, with only 30,000 square meters dedicated to retail stores and restaurants; this huge structure also houses a 5000-square-meter cinema.

With a length of 480 meters and a width of 250 meters, 12 buildings are connected by 16 bridges. This creates an extensive network of spaces that offers the viewer a unique visual experience. At the foot of the "canyon" is an area called Sunken Garden. This 7000-square-meter "garden" is a combination of public

space and retail spaces. The design of the building also includes environmentally responsible building materials and an air purification system. In addition, 30 percent of the area is dedicated to green spaces ("Green Office").

Thanks to the future-oriented sustainable concept of Sky Soho, the project has received the "LEED" (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certificate.

AHI-Carrier plant technology for high energy efficiency

The integrated building envelope concept and installation technology ensures low energy consumption. Therefore, six AHI-Carrier Vitomax 200-HW hot water boilers with a total capacity of 24 MW were installed to provide heating and hot water supply to the entire building complex. These industrial/commercial boilers are characterized by exceptional efficiency and operational reliability.

Like the Lotte World Tower in Seoul, Sky Soho Shanghai is another landmark in East Asia that has chosen to use AHI-Carrier's high-performance technology.
