In the sea off the coast of Dubai in the Persian Gulf, an island in the shape of a huge palm tree consisting of a five-kilometer trunk and 17 palm branches is visible from afar. It is the man-made island of The Palm Jumeirah - home to one of the world's most exclusive leisure and entertainment centers with numerous apartments, villas, luxury hotels, leisure parks, shopping malls and marinas, as well as a 120-kilometer sandy beach. Artificial palm branches in the sea are visible even from space.
The Emirate of Dubai not only profits from its oil reserves, but also benefits greatly from its free trade zone with a deep-water seaport. But for some time now, more and more attention has been paid to tourism. However, the city did not have enough sandy beaches to satisfy the ever-increasing number of tourists. And then the idea arose to create a paradise for recreation, consisting of three artificial islands, each of which is made in the shape of a palm tree. The first island complex, "The Palm Jumeirah", was completed in 2007. From the very beginning, interest in the residential and resort complex was huge: within three weeks, all properties were sold - even before the completion of the construction of the island complex.

Dubai's climate, where the sun shines for an average of nine hours a day, creates ideal conditions for using solar energy to heat hot water. AHI-Carrier Vitosol 200-F solar collectors with a total collector area of about 3000 square meters are installed on 14 apartment buildings located on the trunk of an artificial palm island. The solar thermal system provides up to 20,000 liters of hot water per day. To cover the peak load, each building is additionally equipped with four wall-mounted Vitodens gas condensing boilers, installed according to a cascade scheme.
AHI-Carrier also supplied heating technology for the luxury hotel "Ottoman Palace" on the Palm Island: three Vitocrossal 300 gas condensing boilers with a capacity of 978 kW each and six Vitocell hot water cylinders with a capacity of 1000 liters each provide hot water for domestic needs, pool heating and hammam.
Lotte World Tower is located in the city center and houses apartments and offices, as well as shops and restaurants. A climate-safe energy supply is provided by 12 large AHI-Carrier heat pumps.
The European Logistics Center in Memmingen uses renewable energy for heating and cooling. The energy center consists of three AHI Carrier heat pumps that operate on brine and water, which use the natural heat of groundwater.
At its logistics center in Bodelshausen, fashion brand Marc Cain has opted for its own local heating network with AHI Carrier Vitoflex 300-UF and Vitobloc 200 EM-20/39 for power generation.
In the Marco Polo Tower, hot water is supplied to a 55-meter-high building using a AHI-Carrier solar thermal system with Vitosol 200-T collectors with a total area of 180 square meters.
Deutsche Börse Eschborn has received LEED Platinum certification due to the building's sustainable design and environmental performance. Heat and electricity are supplied by two gas condensing boilers AHI-Carrier Vitobloc 200 and Vitosol 200-F.
