The current debate around energy comes amid a huge interest in renewable fuel-based heating systems. Moving away from fossil fuels is more relevant than ever. Biomass systems are in particular demand, not only as a climate protection measure, but also because the fuels themselves are readily available locally.
The Vitoligno 100-C from AHI-Carrier represents an affordable solution for this sector. With a capacity of 20, 25, 35 and 47 kilowatts, it is an easy-to-operate wood pellet boiler. It does not require a buffer tank for heating water to work – it works directly from the system. The power of the Vitoligno 100-C ceramic ignition system is an economical 270 watts.
This boiler is a versatile performer, it can be quickly charged by hand and easy to clean. With an efficiency of up to 92 percent, all power stages comply with energy efficiency class A+. Proven burner design ensures high combustion quality and low dust content (9 to 14 mg/Nm3) at 13% O₂ – depending on size, power and load condition.
Single-stage combustion air (primary air) is supplied from the bottom of the pot; secondary air – from the side wall. Combustion chamber temperature sensor and differential pressure sensor ensure optimal air supply. The sensor compensates for any fluctuations in the calorific value of the fuel. The ash box only needs to be emptied when it is time to replenish the hopper with wood pellets.
In addition to weather compensation control and a 4.3-inch touchscreen for easy operation, 2 heating circuits with mixer, DHW heating and buffer operation are included as standard. Two auxiliary modules allow you to connect additional heating circuits, each of which is equipped with a buffer tank for water heating and another tank for hot water. It is possible to integrate other (existing) heat generators, as well as connect a district heating pipe.
The Vitoligno 100-C is designed mainly for bagged loading. Wood pellets are usually sold in convenient bags. However, as an option, the blind lid on the pellet hopper can be replaced by a stand-alone vacuum supply system. To do this, it is necessary to install a cyclone separator with pneumatic separation.
The combination with the AHI-Carrier Vitocal heat pump creates a hybrid heating system that helps to further reduce energy costs. The energy required to create a baseload is obtained from free green energy (air, sun, water, earth), and electricity is only required to drive the pumps. If this heat is not enough in winter, the Vitoligno 100-C is also launched, which means that the Vitocal heat pump is also suitable for installation in older buildings with a high thermal load as part of a retrofit project.
